Navajo Nation Courts are open but offering essential services only:
  1. All criminal proceedings concerning an incarcerated defendant;
  2. All proceedings concerning detained juveniles, abused or neglected minors;
  3. Habeas corpus actions;
  4. Involuntary commitment hearings;
  5. Extraditions and federal detainers;
  6. Order to Show Cause proceedings;
  7. Applications for orders of protection and matters of enforcement; and
  8. Applications for injunctive relief.

​Documents may be filed with the Navajo Nation Court by mail, fax, or email through 5/29/20. Call the court after filing to confirm documents received.

NEED LEGAL HELP IN TRIBAL COURT?

  1. Ask the court for a pro bono attorney. The Navajo Nation Bar Association is developing a list of volunteer NNBA member attorneys and advocates, which will be provided to the Navajo District Courts.
